Winter Netflix Recommendations

This past week, I had the pleasure of battling the seasonal flu because well everyone and their mother had it, so I got it! But lucky for you that allowed me the time to binge watch Netflix and create a list of favorites and reasons you should watch too. You can thank me later when you are knee deep in popcorn and running to the store for more wine!

Serious Drama

Scandal | I started this show around the beginning of the third season, after I heard great reviews from everyone I knew,  and I've been hooked ever since. Olivia Pope is just amazing in every way but has this underline brokenness that you kind of fall in love with. If you are a fan of the show, I suggest re-watching the series and relive all of the wonderfulness that is Scandal since this is the final season! If you have never watching, WATCH IT! It will reck your life and leave you wondering what happened but you will love every minute of it.

WATCH IF: You are in for a unconventional love story mixed with lots of drama and betrayal.

Being Mary Jane | I have a love-hate relationship with this show. I watch it off and on but this last season has proven to be the best one yet. In Season 4, Mary Jane gets her life together little by little in a brand new city. The creators have set things up to end the series on a really great note.

WATCH IF: If you are in the mood for some unperfected black girl magic.

Light Hearted

Fuller House | Now that the Full House cast has grown up (and so have we) the show has definitely taken a turn to more of the adult side and I love it. It's like being a kid again watching the reruns but now you get all of the "jokes" and its very relevant to the current times, they frequently make mention of things going on right now.

WATCH IF: You are a 90's kid looking for some nostalgic television.

Project MC Squared | I started watching with my five year old niece and she left the room after 15 minutes. I, on the other hand, finished the 6 part series within three days. I know its for kids but the girl power feel-good theme gets me and its infused with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) topics, blame the teacher in me!

WATCH IF: You are a teacher or just really like girl power kid shows!
